Are there books you only read from the "quarter bins"? My LCS has pretty regular "get this shit out my shop" sales. I use them to buy books I am unsure of, or don't want to pay even DCBS prices to get. I read Blue Beetle this way, and currently Buffy. Skip week got me what I hope is a great haul. 70% back issue sale.
Madman 1-12, 15, 17
Proof 2-15, 17-24
Guerillas 1-3
The Man With No Name 1-11
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly 1-4
The Mighty 1-3, 7-11
Jonah Hex 2, 4-29, 31-32, 34, 36-49
Do any of you do this, or something similar? Am I a cheap asshole killing comics? Does this taste funny to you?
xoxo

Re: Wait For The SaleWith comics being 3 bucks a pop, I don't blame anyone for waiting for the quarter bins. I'm a trade waiter, myself, but not only do I wait for trades, I wait for the library to get them, so I can check them out for free...well, free with my tax dollars, I suppose.
Re: Wait For The Sale
It's definitely one of the ways I pick things up that get some buzz, but I never manage to latch onto for whatever reason. The shops in my area rarely have sales though, and nobody has $1 or less bins. So I tend to pick books like this up at cons. I don't do a ton of bin diving, but every once in a while I find some boxes with recent stuff and take a look. I got Incredible Hercules this way and that Shazam book that was out after Infinite Crisis. Fortunately DCBS makes it easy to try something new when a series starts with those 75% off first issues. It's hard for me to pass that up most of the time.
