Sal and Braxton take an in-depth look at Before Watchmen: Rorschach #1 by Brian Azarello and Lee Bermejo. New York City. 1977. Dirty. Hot. Dangerous. This town is going to the dogs, and only one man has the guts to clean it up–Rorschach. But with a serial killer on the loose and a new drug lord looking to increase his territory, one man might not be enough.
Before Watchmen has already produced an enormous amount of rhetoric for and against it’s creation. This weekly series will take a look at each issue of the Before Watchmen event with as unbiased a perspective as possible. We will attempt to answer the simple question – “Are they any good?”
WARNING: SPOILERS! WE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT THE EVENTS IN THE BOOK.

So, when I read this book and I got to the scene with the guy in the peep-show booth; I had a distinctly different interpretation. If you notice he has tied the rope around his right wrist. Now if Hollywood has taught me anything, when you “tie off” in order to “shoot up” the band goes around you bicep. If Kevin Smith has taught me anything the only reason you would cut off the blood supply to your right hand is to make it numb, thus it feels like someone else’s hand and enhances your pleasure when you are masturbating. Not that I would know from any personal experience. But Kevin Smith would. Also, I was just wondering; has it ever been definitively determined that Rorschach is homeless or is it just what everyone assumes? I’m really enjoying your “Watching ‘Before Watchmen’” and I look forward to more.
